СТАТИСТИКА EIA. Согласно опубликованным вчера данным по запасам нефти и нефтепродуктов от Министерства энергетики США, спрос на бензин повысился на 9 тыс. баррелей в день до 8.65 млн баррелей в день. Запасы сырой нефти увеличились на 6.2 млн баррелей против ожидавшихся 2.7 млн баррелей. Запасы бензина сократились хуже ожиданий: на 121 тым. Баррелей вместо прогнозируемых 1.5 млн баррелей. Запасы дистиллятов уменьшились на 1 млн баррелей ожидалось 1.2 млн. Нефть отреагировала небольшим падением на вышедшие данные, однако затем стабилизировалась и сейчас торгуется на отметке $44.2 за баррель.

Верхотинское месторождение круппнейшее, онно обладает извлекаемыми запасами в 67 млн каат (стоимость свыше $5 млрд). Однако ражработка там еще не начата, и месторо.дение фактически простааивает уже очень давно. Алмазный бизнес сейчас не в фаворе у инвесто ров это дорогостоящий процесс, особенно в усьовиях сегодняшнего кризиса. I think that Mr. Weiner is onto something, but misses something even more fundamental, something that should be of interest to all feminists interested in the law. But more on that later. Before I proceed, I want to state that I am one of those feminists that believes in organic critique, that is, the idea that a person critiquing a cultural phenomenon should have some connection to that culture. Thus, I present my bona fides: I grew up with hip-hop – literally. One of the first songs of any genre that I remember from my childhood is “Rapper’s Delight” by the Sugar Hill Gang. The first song I ever learned the words to was “Rappin’ Duke.” I tried to walk around with untied Adidas until my mom made me stop. The first tape (yes, I said tape) that I bought with my own money was “Parents Just Don’t Understand.” I remember watching the very first episodes of Yo! MTV Raps and I remember racing home every day after school to watch them thereafter. I remember when a friend said, “I got a tape by this new group called NWA. You have to hear it.” I still know all the words to “Fight the Power.” So yes, I know a little something about hip hop. And of particular significance for this critique, I also happen to be an African American woman.
Weiner is correct that the development of hip hop has led to female rappers being reduced to beautiful, talented moons orbiting around their male counterparts. However, I believe that capitalism and sexism are very much to blame for this development.
How does capitalism come into play? What hip hop critics might not know that hip hoppers have known for some time is that rap was not always this way. Rap music used to have a rich diversity. You had some people that made party records, like LL Cool J, others, like KRS-ONE and Public Enemy, which educated while they entertained, some that made gangsta rap, some, like D.J. Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince, that made us laugh, and some that just said whatever they felt. And that was the point – there was a time in hip hop where one could pretty much say anything. See, in the time period I am discussing, record labels still hadn’t figured out how to make money off of hip-hop. Because there was not yet any set formula, creativity reigned, and songs about anything and everything imaginable were made. That meant that all comers – including women – could find a place at the table.
But unfortunately, the industry eventually figured it out. The formula has become to take whatever rapper is popular at the moment, and have each rapper copy that person. Currently, the model is some version of a guy that has been shot multiple times, sold drugs, or been shot multiple times while selling drugs. The exceptions to this rule – such as Kanye West and Outkast – are dealt with by marketing them primarily as pop acts. For female emcees, it means no place at the table - the reservation has been cancelled. While hip hop has always celebrated the masculine, this new hypermasculinity is difficult for a female emcee to realistically portray. If 50 Cent gets shot nine times, it proves he’s not only a man, but a strong man, a really “REAL” man – almost a superman. If a woman gets shot nine times, it proves . . . what exactly? The fact that the question is so difficult to answer speaks volumes about how violent women and violent men are portrayed in our society. Male violence is tacitly accepted, almost encouraged, but female aggression is a no-no. Even black women, who are usually considered less ‘feminine” than their counterparts, will find it hard to pull out of that difficult binary. So, old stereotypes such as Lil Kim’s oversexed Jezebel are rehashed ad infinitum as a proxy for hypermasculinity. But it’s a poor facsimile.
In fact, the intersection of capitalism and sexism has had another interesting effect on women in hip hop. First, the sexism - As Weiner states, there have always been women in hip hop – first, as stand-alone acts, then, as the “kid sister” or apprentice to a male rapper. But now, women in rap are even further marginalized. The only women that one sees in rap videos these days (so I hear, as I refuse to watch anymore) are so called “video vixens,” scantily clad women whose sole purpose in her objectification is to serve the male gaze and narrative around her. So I ask: if the current iteration of hip hop is predicated on women being objects as opposed to subjects, and is predicated on removing any independent agency, where is the place for a woman to speak of her own authority - or at all?
Moreover, the capitalism plays a role in sustaining the “vixen” role, and not just in the usual “sex sells” fashion. The African American female form has been commodified for centuries. In the 1880s, Ms. Sarah Baartman was taken around the world and displayed as the “Hottentot Venus.” Her buttocks and genitalia were prominently displayed. She was an object of fascination and curiosity. There is a wonderful YouTube video essay that chronicles the relationship between Sarah Baartman and the young women in today’s videos better than my words ever could. The comparison is startling, but the politics are the same – the bodies of women of color are to be fetishized and objectified for any paying customer. Thus, I find it completely unsurprising that the female emcees that have any success in the current climate try to put their own spin on this narrative.
Women of color were and are a large part of the hip hop fans base. We are trying to “take back the music,” as Essence Magazine calls its campaign on the issue. But until the current keepers of the castle decide that this particular formula of hip hop has lost its flavor, women will continue to be further marginalized for the near - and perhaps distant – future.

Cancer. I think we all can agree: it sucks. Even if you asked a CEO of a pharmaceutical company earning billions of US Dollars on cancer drugs what he thought of cancer, he or she would most likely say, ?It sucks. (then, greedily rubbing hands together) but profitable, yes, yes, oh, so profitable! (then, sober) But yes, it sucks.?

Cancer. Its varieties are many. Its causes are many. Its cures are few. And most of the time, the cures are just virulent poisons, crazy baldhead cancercides that kill a lot of other stuff in your body on the way to getting those cancer cells.

But you know what the funny thing is about us saying ?Cancer Sucks?? We judge it.

And you know what happens when we judge something? We push it away. That thing we judged is bad. It?s not us. We deny it. So we look away when we see people suffering with it. Or we pity them. Oh, it?s horrible, that cancer stuff you have. Or we resist it and say, ?Not to me, not to me.?

The bulk of us don?t want to deal with things- like cancer - that we judge negatively. Why? Because we don?t want to ? or don?t know how to - look closely at that which we?re really judging: the deeper level of hopelessness, anger, self-hatred, terror and lots of other funky painful stuff that gets dredged up. And so we just go ?Ick! Bad!? and think about pretty shoes and sports teams and having carnal relations with that good-smelling temp who sits two cubicles over.

But the funny thing is if we can acknowledge the actual pain that caused the disease in the first place, and we can come to terms with it being there then we wouldn?t judge it, and we could examine and heal the disease from a spiritual perspective as well, which would aid the medical treatment.

You see, here?s the punch line. Dr. Mitch Gaynor has learned in the course of his medical and healing practice, from being open to the many gifts that God has put in his healing path, that a lot of this cancer stuff, you know all these metastasizing thingamajigs, are actually created ? on a deep level - by us! We are Spirit first; and then we are spirits who have bodies. But disease commences on a spiritual level before it manifests on a physical level. We will repeat for the people in the back: a disease commences on a spiritual level before it manifests on a physical level.

So to truly heal a disease in the body, you need to heal the soul.

Dr. Mitch Gaynor not only helps heal bodies, he helps heal souls. And when that happens, he helps his patients create remarkable recoveries and remissions.

Of course, let?s be clear, just playing a singing bowl doesn?t pop out all the malignant tumors and seal them up in a Ziploc bag for freezing and fine dining later. Dr. Gaynor has incorporated a lot of voice, toning and breathing techniques from mystic traditions as well as tested modern scientific knowledge to help his patients heal with the bowls He is convinced ? and is very convincing in his tome - that healing with sound will soon be accepted as vital and important as the use of guided imagery.

In his book, he introduces us to many of the researchers and healers who are working with sound to help with surgery, hospice work, and healing. There is a strong body of evidence ? scientific and experiential ? that is very compelling. If you are into this stuff, I dare you to make it through the book without chanting! Dare you!

It is all very inspiring and thought provoking, and maybe it will give you a direction in your healing work helping yourself or others.

Dr. Gaynor uses sound to help his patients address the emotional or spiritual pain they have been carrying, denied and judged inside of them, that helped create the disease.

He has learned that they have to get to the root cause of the disease and get back in tune with their healthful essence. And what we see in his examples is that the body and mind have stored these unconscious pains, and they have helped as the spiritual causes of these illnesses.

Dr. Gaynor provides many examples of patients and their personal anguishes and recoveries in his book, but I think you could refer to most of them as ?judgments against one?s self.? (Hey! Judgment? we were just talking about that at the beginning of this topic.)

These judgments usually (but not always) commence in childhood and are never healed fully. They start with an emotional or psychological pain ? ?I?m not good enough? I?m not deserving of love? I need to prove to the world I am better than this person? It?s my fault this person is sick,? etc. Sure, you ?get over? some of them ? but really all that ?getting over it? means most of the time is that we push the pain under our consciousness and ignore it. We go on with our lives, like amputated soldiers or ballerinas with arthritis. It?s cool. Just overeat or smoke or take drugs or get into bad relationships or ? they keep you busy.

However, the interesting thing here is, if you consider it for a moment, that judgment is born of some pain ? physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual ? and most cancers and similar diseases involve a lot of pain, you might begin to see a connection. Pain begets pain. (For those of you that are native French speakers, that last sentence has nothing to do with baguettes.)

Take a look at what happens over time. The first painful event soon gets pushed down out of our consciousness and covered up. But soon we experience other painful events and thoughts ? even as mundane as ?I didn?t get the ice cream I wanted? ? and they start getting stored on top of it, even if they aren?t obviously related, your subconscious puts them together, ?I didn?t get the ice cream I wanted BECAUSE I?m not good enough? BECAUSE I?m not deserving of love?BECAUSE I couldn?t keep my parents from getting divorced, BECAUSE God is punishing me, etc.?

Eventually you have a nice chunk of pain, with many layers. And you don?t realize it, but you have very robotic responses to avoid it, or some people get addictions, or down happy pills to quell it. When you think about it though, that unconscious pain has already limited your life a good deal before it manifests as a disease and puts a limit to your life.

It?s been shown by physics that we are energy. We are vibration. Inside of each of us, we are different levels of vibrations. Some parts of us are higher; some are lower. The parts of you in pain are lower; they don?t vibrate as high as the rest of you. The chunk of pain can?t receive the light and higher healing vibrations. Those parts of you in pain, well they either need to get healed, or they take down the rest of you.

But not that hard. Not with sound healing in combination with a willingness to get conscious about the unconscious pain you have. Being able to address the emotions, the psychological and spiritual elements that were causes of the pain and your reaction to it.

It?s really quite mechanical on one level. The healing vibrations of sound and your intent to release the non-vibrating pain can help create miraculous healings. (And once again, we are not recommending buying a Singing Bowl (OR Gong) as a replacement to anything the AMA or large pharmaceutical companies offer in terms of cancercides. Neither is Dr. Gaynor. This is just another level to healing. )

And for those of you who wonder about the sweet children who manifest cancer so early in their lives, remember, as spirits we choose many events to learn and heal others with our learning. It doesn?t always have to be about years of denied pain. (Sometimes it?s lifetimes?)

BUT miraculous healings can happen and do happen. People can live longer than their prognosis. Nothing is a panacea, but the use of singing and quartz bowls and all the other sound and other techniques that Dr. Gaynor discusses are great healing tools.

A Manufacturer of skin care products has developed a liquid soap that is effective in destroying antibiotic-resistant strains of bacteria such as MRSA.

Bacteria are unavoidable and, for the most part, usually benignly. The majority of the bacteria that can be found on our hands at any given time are usually acquired when we touch different surfaces. Even though bacteria are a part of our world, no one wants to go out of their way to come in contact with them or have them remain on our skin. "Yes, we do generally require 2 studies for a new indication, as we did with Risperdal for irritability of autism (as there were no prior approvals of any other age group for this claim). But it's a different story for pediatric claims that come after adult approvals for the same claim. Here we generally accept a single study to extrapolate from the adult data, i.e., Risperdal already had adult claims for schizophrenia and bipolar as discussed in the Pediatric Written Requests we issued. There was no special consideration here. This is a common situation, not just with psychiatric drugs. "However, if one looks at the Pediatric Written Requests that have been issued for many of the SSRI's you will note that they require 2 studies for depression because of the noted many failures, but only 1 pediatric study for other conditions such as OCD or SAD. This is because the adult indication is the same and we have evidence of its effectiveness in adults and do not wish to enroll children unnecessarily (of course a big ethical issue as children cannot offer consent) in just repeating a trial when we already have other data in adults and will get the dosing and safety information from the pediatric efficacy study.
"The burden is to be as effective as possible with the data we have in designing pediatric trials. The FDA always looks to see what we can learn from adults. In some situations we can extrapolate efficacy data, not safety or dosing, from adult trials IF we can meet 2 basic assumptions concerning the similarity of the disease and the response to therapy between adults and children. Sometimes we are not certain if we can extrapolate and we take a middle road of exposure-response studies to test the hypothesis that we can extrapolate. In that case you may not even have a single efficacy trial as was used for the atypicals. I have enclosed the algorithm that is used by FDA in deciding what type of trial to conduct- it is slide 32 in the enclosed set of slides which are public. It also goes through the many questions the FDA asks in deciding if how to do trials in the pediatric population.
